The Computers Across the Curriculum, or CAC, program has put computers in the hands of GFU students and faculty for nearly 20 years. Today it is more than just a laptop program. In addition to enabling students to create and present their academic work, CAC allows them to share files, communicate via e-mail, and access the Internet. In a digital age of instant communication, it is imperative that our students understand and use this technology.
A Computer for All
Computers Across the Curriculum
provides a laptop computer with software to all full-time undergraduate students. In past years, incoming freshmen were given the choice of an approved HP or Apple laptop and that portion of the program has now transitioned to Apple only. Transfer students receive a laptop relative to their graduating class and it may be an Apple or an HP computer depending on which brand is available for distribution. The transfer student laptop is from one of two approved vendors that work with George Fox University: Hewlett-Packard and Apple.
